Vega node requirements
📄️ Data node infrastructure
This page covers the minimum and recommended hardware requirements, and the software requirements for running a data node connecting to the Vega network.
📄️ Validator infrastructure
This page covers the minimum and recommended hardware requirements, and the software requirements for running a Vega node to be a validator candidate.
📄️ Data node security
Before reading this page, we recommend reading the validator node security page for useful security guidance. The following instructions describe how to set up a secure data node with exposed APIs.
📄️ Validator security
Validators are the most important part of the Vega network. Without them, the network is unable to generate new blocks and thus process any transactions. It is therefore important that the validator nodes are protected so that they can run correctly and perform their designated tasks.
📄️ Validator community
Being a high-quality validator involves more than effectively running nodes. You also need to build a reputation and community, and stay actively involved in the wider Vega community. Becoming a recognisable member of the ecosystem is a great way to attract nominations and solidify longevity as a validator.
